RECAP OF 2016
2016 in many ways was a good year for Council 55. At the beginning of the year we welcomed 4 new members We saw another successful pancake breakfast and an outstanding Luminaria sales/display. Donations were made to the Church, St Peter/St Francis School. and Two Hearts Pregnancy Center (Including help sponsor their annual dinner). Seminarian Patrick Kane was ordained. A new Grand Knight was elected and I think we may have the Installation Ceremony down. We helped support the Oktoberfest, and our 4th degree members were active at many events like Confirmation and many special Masses. There was of course the chairs to move and parking lots to patrol. We welcomed new brothers in Torrington as St Maron now has a KOC Council.
With all that went on we also had sad news - Brothers Jerry Belli, Jim and John Eichner went to there eternal reward in 2016. Our Treasure Tim Flynn and Brother Tom Fuller both lost their mothers, and our new Grand Knight suffered the loss of a sister. Brother Robert Castillo lost his wife recently. It is tough when we lose founding members of our council and please remember their families and the families of all members who have suffered a loss this year.
As we enter 2017 the Council has plans for expanding the support of our Cluster and meeting the challenges that await us.
